Practice as Path - Podcast Experiment

practice as path Jun 09, 2025

What is the role and importance of intentional practice in a world where we jump so quickly from one thing to another and where theoretical abstract knowledge is often what is most valued?

In this exploration we are inviting different perspectives about how our practices shape" our lives, relationships and society at large. Based on the notion of "What you practice you become" individually and together.

Some of the questions that keep coming up around the notion of practice are:

  • What if we started to understand the nature and value of practice?
  • What helps us to find a practice and stick to it?
  • What is the role of personal practice? What kind of practices are crucial at this point in time of increasing complexity and confusion?
  • What is the relationship between our individual and our collective practice?
  • How can the individual support/inspire the collective and how can the collective support the individual.
  • What are stories and metaphors that can highlight the deeper nature of practice?

In this experiment I have set out to have conversations with the people that I admire the most and people who are committed to a path of practice, understanding what that means.

I will be sharing the interviews as a podcast here and some of them you can also watch the video recordings of here on our blog.

The hope is that I myself can grow in my understanding of my own practice and that this series may inspire others to take their existing practices more serious or start a practice and find a path that can lead far into the future, through challenges and achievements. A practice that can help us grow intro mastery, but more than anything grow as human beings and find our way through turbulent times from a place of confidence and centeredness that in my experience only comes from practice.

Stay tuned. We have a wonderful line up of interviews that we will publish once a month starting with:

  • John Milton - Founder of the Way of Nature, Spiritual teacher, Nature guide, Pioneering ecologist and so much more. Practising how we can align our Inner, Outer and True Nature and how we connect to the deepest source of our being.

  • Joseph Jaworski  - Author of Synchronicity - The inner path of leadership, Presence and Source. Looking at how personal practice is part of setting the field exploring What is the relationship between the depth of the personal practice and what is possible in an organization?
and Susan Taylor CEO of Generon Consulting working deeply with the practice of generative conversations.

  • Toke Paludan Møller, co-founder of The Art of Hosting Practice, The Flow Game and the practicing for peace dojo amongst other things. One guiding quote for his work is: "What you practice you become"

  • Barbara Bash - Calligraphy artist extraordinaire and Sensei, Buddhist practitioner, Illustrator and much more. She invites us to full presence as the foundation from where we make our mark.
